Continuing our analysis of Smichus Geula LeTefilla shel Arvis & the order of Tefilla and Shema in the evening, the machlokes R' Yochanan & R' Yehoshua. We established in our shiur this past Weds, that Birchas K"S serves as a Matir for Tefilla. In this context Birchas K"S & Tefilla remain two independent entities, two Kiyumim. Now we study Berachot 9b & 29b, & discover that Smichus Geula LeTefilla is not merely a Halacha of Ritzui Tishbachos as a Matir for Tefillah, but entails a kiyum of integrating Kabalas OM"Shamayim & tefilla as a single unified entity. The obligation of K"S engenders an obligation of Tefillah, as derived from "they will fear You with sunrise". In the context of these two kiyumim we can explain the issue of Arvis.
