Based upon the Rav's Yahtzeit shiur on Smichas GeUlah LiTefilla, this shiur will weave together sugyos in 3 Masechtot in order to define the underlying principle that governs them all, i.e. that Tefilla requires 'Netilas Reshus'. Mortal man cannot enter to have an audience with the Infinite King os Kings in order to present his personal, human requests, without first being granted permission to do so. How does man achieve his goal & receive license to pray? The 1st element is the obligation to pray! #2, man must have a framework for prayer, i.e. the Amida as designed by Chazal. #3, man must introduce his petition with praise. The latter is achieved with the first 3 Brachot of 'Shevach'. Pesukei DeZimra & Birchot Shema form a 'Kiyum Matir'.
