Description
This shiur will offer an introduction to Smichas Geulah LiTefilla by offering an analysis of the mitzva of Tefilla, its nature as an entity of Rachamim. We will demonstrate that in the constallationof mitzvot, Tefilla is absolutely unique. It emerges as a Halachikaly significant and viable "cheftza" even without a Chovas Gavra. The sugya entertains the possibility that one can recite as many Tefillos (Shemona Esrei's) as one desires even beyond the required number. Can one recite kidush, or Hallel, or Birchat Hamazon on a voluntary basis without a Chovas Gavra?? Why is Tefilla different? And why are women obligated in tefilla even as a mitzva she'hazeman gerama? Why is a tefilla ketzara meaningful if it does not fulfill a Chovas gavra.
