Description

In this Halacha shiur for Mishpatim & Dvarim, we will study the principle known as "Lifnim MiShuras HaDin", i.e. going beyond the letter of the law. We will study the Ramban's insights into VaAsisa HaYashar VeHaTov. What is the nature of my obligation, if it exists, to return a lost object to its Jewish owner in a non-Jewish city? What about a Zaken re: returning an animal ViEina Lefi Kvodo? What about paying a worker who was negligent and caused me a loss by damaging my property? We will see that there are different sources for this Halachik principle & Tos' establishes three different categories of LiFnim, and there will be differences as far as the issue of Beis Din forcing a person to go beyond the law. We will study some of the Poskim.
