In this introduction to Halachik issues in the Mitzvah of Milchama, we will study the sources in the Torah for this mitzva; the three categories of Milchemet Mitzva; the status of a preemptive war; the definition of a discretionary war; women and their mitzva of Milchama; the laws of the Jewish camp of war. In a follow-up shiur, we hope to advance in our study of this important mitzva.
