In this Derech HaLimud shiur we will apply the categories of the Rogotchover - combination of parts vs. a new indivisible entity - to the sugyos of Tumah and Challah. This is relevant to the concept of חיבור which is necessary in these 2 areas of Halacha. We will discuss the difference between combinations that exist in the natural world as opposed to combinations of fragments achieved by human action. The latter cannot create חיבור but rather הרכבה שכנית. We will distinguish between a dough of water & flour as opposed to water & fruit juices. The latter creates הרכבה שכנית. What constitutes לישה as a Meleches Shabbos? שכנית or מיזגית.
