Description

The sugya in Masechet Kiddushin 65a-66a establishes that in testimony, one is not believed to create an Issur on anyone but himself. This law is formulated in many different scenarios; the Gemorah wants to understand the need for these various case, what's the חידוש? In the second half of this shiur we will analyze the issue of a marriage that took place in the presence of a single witness. The goal: defining the requirement of two witnesses in Kuiddushin. This is the source in Shas for the fundamental distinction between two categories of עדות.
