Description
We will begin this shiur with a controversy between the Bach & the Shach in Yoreh Deah siman # 109, regarding the Psak of the Rashba in the case of a piece of non-kosher meat that got mixed up with two pieces of kosher meat. The Rashba prohibits eating the 3 pieces all at once, but permits it in the case where he split the Ta'aroves and cooked two separate תבשילין. The Bach applies this Heter to the case where he only found out about the Ta'aroves after the cooking was done; the Shach prohibits it unless he knew about the Ta'aroves before the cooking. An analysis of the Shach will lead us to a חקירה presenting two definitions of ביטול בשישים, how Bitul works and what it accomplishes. Is it removal of Ta'am or a חלות דין ביטול ע"פ דין?
