Description

In this shiur for Masechet Berachot 21b, we will begin our study of the principle: אין דבר שבקדושה, and our goal will be defining a Dava SheBikedusha. The Shulchan Aruch & Ramah address the question: after which kedusha can I remove my tefillin? We need either three of four kedushos, depending upon whether we include ברכו as a Kedusha. We wonder why the kedusha of U'Va LeTziyon is part of Tefilla and requires that one continue to wear his tefillin. We are comfortable with the requirement of wearing our tefillin til after Kaddish tiskabel since the latter kadish closes the Shemona Esrai. But why קדושא דסידרא? We will develop the opinion of the Geonim & the Masechet Sofrim that kedusha is recited only on Shabbos, Y"T, R"Ch and chanuka.
