Description
The Mishna in Masechet Chulin 108a teaches that a mixture of Basar VeChalav without a transferrel of Ta'am, i.e. if the ratio of milk to meat is less than one to sixty, is permissible. We will study two approaches to explain the requirement of נתינת טעם in the Issur Basar Bechalav. Is it because with less than one to sixty is בטל, i.e. the law of ביטול applies to Basar BeChalav just as it does to all other Issurim. Or shall we say that Bittul does not apply to Basar Bechalav but the Heter is because דרך בישול אסרה תורה, and less than נתינת טעם is not considered Derech Bishul. This is the great debate between Tos' and the Agudah. In this shiur we will study the ramifications of this debate re: אפשר לסוחטו אסור as well as אפשר להפרידו.
