We continue our study of the sugya in Masechet Chulin 108a which establishes that in Basar Becholov two principles operate: חתיכה נעשית נבילה & אפשר לסוחטו אסור. With regard to other Issurim we know that the principle of חנ"נ does not operate, but what about אפשר לסוחטו אסור? This is a great debate between the Rashba & the Tur, and seems to reflect a contradiction between two Piskei Dinim in the Shulchan Aruch. We will study the Beis Yosef as well as the Be'er HaGolah. The insights of R' Akiva Eiger and the Pri Megadim will be compared & contrasted. The Psak of the Nodah B'Yehuda will indicate the first interpretation of the Rashba, whereas the Psak of the Magan Avraham would indicate the 2nd definition of the Rashba.
