Description

For our study of 18a we will analyze the following q': should the אונן, who cannot recite the Beracha himself, hear someone else's Beracha, and thereby obtain the Kiyum HaMitzva via the rule of שומע כעונה? Is the Onen enjoined from the מעשה ברכה or even from the קיום המצוה? Does שומע כעונה relate the Maaseh Beracha back to the Shomea himself? Would this depend upon whether or not the Shomea responded אמן to the other's Beracha? In the second half of this shiur we will address the q': should the אונן recite Havdala after the burial? We will analyze the Rosh's presentation of the debate between the Ri & the Maharam on this complex q'. Would a קטן who became a גדול on Sunday-Tes be obligated in the mitzva of Havdala?
