Description
For Berachot 15b-16a, we will study three topics: 1) Reciting every word of Shema meticulously; 2) Shema & Tefilla on the top of a tree; 3) The case of the חתן who is exempt from Kriat Shema & Tefilla because of his inability to recite with Kavana. In the first part of the shiur we will discuss the strange Yalfuta (derivation) from the verse of Talmud Torah to establish the law of Kriat Shema. In the 2nd part of the shiur we wonder why Shema may be recited from a high, precarious place, whereas the Amida requires climbing down to ground level. In the 3rd part we will wonder why R' Gamliel recited Shema on his wedding night since he was exempt. Why is his situation different than one who sits in Succa while the rains are pouring down?
