In this shiur for the beginning of Masechet Shabbat we will try to define the Melacha of Hatza'ah (carrying) as a מלאכה גרועה, i.e. an incomplete, an inferior Melacha. his is the only Melacha that lends itself to a difference between a rich man and a poor person. Additionally, even types of Hotza'ah which were implemented in the Mishkan do not qualify as Avos, but rather are Toldos. What is the difference between the Av and its Toldos in this Melacha? Why do we need to derive Hotza'ah from verses in the Torah? And why two verses, is one not sufficient?
