Description
Are we to understand that Leah was the first to express thanks to Hashem? Didn't Adam HaRishon sing to Hashem upon experiencing Shabbos? Didn't Malki Tzedek bless Hashem? As did Eliezer, eved Avraham. In this shiur we will try to appreciate what was unique about Leah's Ho'da'ah, and why her gratitude followed the birth of her 4th son, Yehuda. The most profound level of expressing thanks to Hashem comes from an appreciation of a personal salvation, a realization that Hashem's chesed is great, and acknowledging that one has received more than his portion. The Hoda'ah of Leah prepares the way for the great praises of Dovid HaMelech and the praises of mankind when Mashiach will reveal God's greatness. How is Reuvain superior to Esau?
