In this shiur as part of our series on Hilchos Purim, we will introduce the study the laws of Seudas Purim. We begin with the Sugya in Masechet Megilla 7b and continue with the sugya in Masechet Shabbat 24a regarding adding Al HaNissim to benching. Must the seuda be eaten by day? If one omitted Al HaNisim, must he repeat benching? Must one get drunk on Purim? Should one set the table and eat a special seuda on the night going into Purim? Can two people swap meals at the seuda & fulfill their obligation of Mishloach Manos? Must the seuda be eaten over bread? Is it crucial to eat meat? To drink wine? We will analyze the fundamental question about the nature of the night going into Purim: is it part of Purim, or an introduction to Purim?
