The Aggadeta on Berachot 6a teaches that Hashem wears Tefillin! The mefarshim interpret this on a sybolic level and the intention is to establish the reciprocal love of Hashem for the Nation of Israel. The tefillin of the Master of the universe contain verses of praise for Israel. The scriptural source for God praising Israel is a series of three verses in Parshat Ki Tavo. We will study a long list of different translations of the word "HaE'martem" in those verses. At the end of the shiur we will study the formulation of Rav Kook, what is the meaning of Hashem's tefillin? What is the difference between the shel rosh & the shel yad?
