In this shiur on Kriat Shema we will study the sugya in Pesachim regarding the nature of the Kiyum of reading Adnus in place of the Shem HaMeForash, derived from the verse Ze Shmi LeOlam... & how does this Kiyum operate in the case of Kriat Shema which requires קריאה ככתבה? This will shed a new light of the nature of the recitation of Baruch Shem Kvod Malchuso LeOlam Va'ed, which according to many poskim is an absolute requirement in the mitzva of Kriat Shema. We will analyze the view of the Gra of Vilna which is based upon Rabenu Yona that establishes two different categories of the definition of Krias Shem Adnus.
