Description

Before Holocaust Kinos. Based on Rav Yehoshuah Moshe Aaronson's sefer Alei Meroros; p. 286. piece: "Re'eh Hashem vehabitah." Understanding the prophet Yirmiyahu's statement: "mi yiten roshi mayim…." (would that my head would pour forth water…). Hearing about something does not come close to really seeing it with ones own eyes. So it is with remembering the Holocaust as opposed to having lived through it. Those who lived through it remember it as if it is happening to them right now. A first-hand (eye) account of the gas chambers in action. The "seeing" is the source of tears.
