Description

Inner quiet is a real treasure. Before we fill ourselves with G-dliness, we must achieve inner quiet. According to the sages, wealth means that our happiness is not dependent on anything outside of ourselves. Hashem’s greatness is not dependent on anybody’s smallness. The avos (forefathers) sought solitude. The Torah was given in the desert and in complete silence. The work of Kislev is levad (aloneness). The idea of meditation comes from the Torah. Aloneness is like bread and water for the neshama (soul). Anyone who could never stand to be alone is spiritually sick.
