Shavuos: Ma'amar # 26 (Part I, Osios # 1-7)- When Yoshiyahu senses the impending destruction of the beis hamikdash (temple) he orders that the Aron Kodesh (Holy Ark) be hidden, with the words, “the levi’im (Levites) will no longer carry the aron.” Torah is generally described as being passed from father to son; however, at Har Sinai the Torah speaks of grandparents teaching their grandchildren. Our Mesorah (tradition) is the medium through which our limbs know what to do—it is the “eye” which help to see how to serve Hashem. The most important thing we can do for our children’s education is to give them the authentic Judaism of their grandparents.
