According to the opinion of Beis Hillel (the school of Hillel) the holiest day of Chanukah is the eighth night. According to the opinion of Beis Shamai (the school of Shamai) the holiest day of Chanukah is the first night. The difference between our reaction and the reaction of the tzaddikim (righteous people) when Mashiach (Messiah) comes. Beis Hillel's approach to life was with optimism. Do we live in the way of Beis Hillel? The light of Chanukah is the belief that Hashem is always with us.
