Description

We will analyze the opinion of Rav Hai Gaon who maintains that Birchot Kriat Shema are an integral part of Kriat Shema and should be recited after Tzeis HaKochavim together with Shema. Whereas Rashi and other Rishonim will link Birchat Kriat Shema with Tefillas Arvis to be recited in the shul before Tzeis, Rav Hai insists that one should daven Arvis with the Tzibbur before Tzeis but not Birchas Krias Shema. We will analyze the two Girsa'ot in Rav Hai Gaon re: should one daven Nedava first and chova second, or the other way around.
