Description
Is the action, object, place a physical reality that is measured by the five senses, objective and absolute? Or is it a Halachak entity or status that reflects not the scientific world of physicality, but rather the Halachik, legal world? We'll use the theory of relativity to demonstrate a "chalos shem", a uniquly Halachik definition.Example: the definition of a fruit. The botanist will differentiate between a fruit and a flower or a vegetable using scientific categories of classification and definition. These are absolute. But the Halachik definition of a "Pri" (fruit) will be relative. A Pri for orlah is not a Pri for Trumot and Maasrot; a pri for Birchat HaNehenin is not a Pri for Chazaka. Chalos Shem is relative. We give many examples.
