Description

In this shiur we will introduce a class of Chakirot that analyze a wide variety of sugyot in Shas. What defines the essence of a Halachik status, for example a Yom MeYuchad? And what dinim are "accidental", i.e. they belong to the status and reflect its "personality", but are not essential & even if removed will not void the status? Would the mitzva of simcha, for example, define the essence of Purim as a special day? Or can simcha be defined as a mitzva which reflects the nature of the day (an obligation that is engendered by the day) but does not define its essence? Can there be a day of Purim without a mitzva of simcha?
