In this shiur we will study the cases of one who read the Megilla out of sequence, or didn't read from the Megilla itself, or if he reads in a language other than Ashurit (Lashon Kodesh). We will pay special attention to the controversy regarding reading the Megilla on behalf of a Frenchman who cannot comprehend Ashurit. Can the Megilla be read to such an individual in French? Can the script of the Megilla be written in French? Can a Frenchman who understands Lashon Kodesh fulfill his obligation by hearing the Megilla in French? Can the latter read the Megilla on behalf of someone who does not understant LaShon Kodesh? We will compare this last case to one who stands outside a ditch & blows the shofar on behalf of those inside the ditch.
