Description

In this shiur for the Aggadeta for Masechet Berachot al pi HaRav Kook, we will address the following: the symbolic significance of praying from a low place as representative of the attitude of utter dependence upon HaShem out of a sense of desperation. The symbol of praying with with one's feet together as an expression of the unique greatness of the experience of Tefilla as an act of assimilating into one's soul all of his spiritual accomplishments. The greatness of reciting Shema in its proper time as an act of individual man joining the Tzibbur in his striving for perfection. Tfillin as a symbol of man impacting upon others which is antithetical to the sad emotional experience of Aveilus.
