Description

On the first Rosh Hashana, G-d's presence descended upon Adam Harishon without any effort on his part. Today, on Rosh Hashana we have to bring down G-d’s presence. We awaken our original bris (covenant) with G-d through the shofar. The shofar is a form of teshuva ila’ah (higher form of teshuva). We scream “oy” when our pain is too great to express in words. The Shofar is a call from the inner depth of our heart, which we can not express in words. A mashul (parable) of the prince who was sent away for a long time, and was not recognized by the servants upon his return.
