Description

Tekiah (shofar sound) means reaching the part of ourselves to which we are most deeply attached - our pnimius (inner being). Through the tekiah, we remind G-d of the original bris (covenant). In order to reach the externals of our heart, we must meditate G-d’s greatness, and how He constantly sustains all creation. Do we have the intellectual ability to meditate, and do we know what to meditate about? The light of G-d reaches the entire universe like rays of sun. Malachim (angels) are overflowing with ahavas Hashem (love of G-d) because they are constantly aware that G-d gives them existence. The lion’s roar is compared to a Jew roaring with ahavas Hashem.
