Description
Rebby Yochanan differentiates between two categories of Yisurim: those that are a result of 'chet' (sin) and are meant for kapara, and those that are engendered by love and are meant for refining one's soul and bringing kapara for others. We are provided with certain signs that allow us to identify the nature of yisurim. We will discuss the case of one who is plagued by 'negaim' - Tzara'as, could that be yisurim shel ahava? What is the difference between Eretz Yisrael and chutz la'aretz in this regard? Why did Rav Yochanan take a bone or a tooth of his tenth son?
