Kavod HaRav,I am having difficulty understanding this psak.It would seem that the psak is based upon the individual but in this case, isn't the overriding concern the safety of the tzibur? The hand washing/alcohol gel is not for the purpose of the individual but rather to avoid the individual potentially spreading the virus to others. As such it would seem that it should be allowed -- indeed, even required.I apologize for my lack of understanding but clarification would be greatly appreciated.Kol Tuv,Shmuel Lauer

This is correct. Each person has to decide on the question of shomer psalmHashem for himself. If others are concerned and I will be near them, Ican’t decide for them. Then, I must wash my hands. But if someone will bealone all day and it is only relevant to him and he is not personallynervous, it is his decision.
