Description

According to Rabbaynu Tam, is Tam kiIkar the mechanism that informs Chanann biShar issurim? It seems not. This is conclusion will be evident in the 2nd stage: when the contaminated mixture falls into other heter. In the 1st stage, if the ussur is not nullified then according to tam kiikar the entire heter is thru and thru issur. In the 2nd stage, if the original volume of issur is nullified it can no longer prohibit according tam kiikar. Because there is no more tam. However, Chanann dictates that even in stage 2, the full volume of the contaminated item (both the heter and the issur it absorbed) must be nullified. We will also discuss, how according to Rabbaynu Ephraim, the yoreh gadolah (of kli Midan) could be kosherized.
