One of the problems in Israel today is finding the right "checks & balance" system between the executive/legislative and the judicial. The common complaint is that the Knesset and Government are elected and accountable to the people, and accordingly, represent Israeli society, as opposed to the Supreme Court justices who basically, appoint themselves, and can often be disconnected from reality. The "ivory tower" of theoretical justice, often doesn't understand the various parts of society, the difficulties of life, not to mention terrorism & war. Rav Kook teaches here that the same tragedy can take place in rabbinic courts, where if justice is backed-up, and doesn't "keep up" with life, people will scorn them, causing anarchy & corruption.
