Description

In a famous passage in BT Kiddushin, R. Yehoshua b. Levi extols the virtue of grandparents teaching their grandchildren Torah, equating it to direct reception of that Torah from Sinai. Yet a nearly parallel passage in Talmud Yerushalmi tells a different story. We examine both versions along with the role of intergenerational Torah study in preparing for national and historic redemption.
