We learned about the internal transition within Eliezer, and how the retelling of the Rivkah story teaches us the importance of ‘the words of our forefathers’ servants’. While unconscious of his bias toward his own daughter, Eliezer learned of his own, independent significance from Lavan, of all people. It was only then that he appreciated his role and understood why he’d acted inappropriately beforehand.
