We learned the section dealing with soldiers of war and how some may be exempt. Studying the interpretation of two opinions in the Gemara, we sought to understand how there could be anyone to fight according to the opinion that one would retreat if he had ‘sins in his hand’ . We concluded with the idea that it may refer not to one’s sins, but to when they’re ‘in hand’, when you can’t let go of them.
