Many have an issue to remained focused during davening, but there is 1 place that it's inevitable: שיר של יום/The Daily Psalm which...CHANGES from day to day, and thus, you have to at least pay attention then, as it's the height of embarrassment to say the wrong day. On topic, is davening just mimicking the PAST, or actually responding to the PRESENT? Ramifications to changing the text due to the changing reality.
