Description

After the Shoah, Rabbi Ehpraim Oshry was approached by a woman who wished to surgically remove her tattoo from her arm. She thought by by erasing the number she would be able to get some relief from the memories of her horrific experiences. Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Meisels was asked by a father if he was permitted to ransom his son from a concentration camp barrack full of young boys scheduled to be killed the next day. The father and Rabbi Meisels knew that if this boy was removed from the barrack, another boy would be taken in his place.
