Description

Conventional wisdom holds that the Mikdash, first built by Shlomo in the 10th c. BCE, was a continuation (and expansion) of the Mishkan constructed by Moshe in the desert. A perusal of the relevant passages in Tanakh, however, indicates otherwise and seems to argue for a unique and distinct purpose and telos for each.
