Description

The first scroll that Moshe wrote, per the narrative in Shemot, is referred to as ספר הברית. When he read from ספר הברית, the people responded with the epochal response - נעשה ונשמע. However, they had apparently heard the same words from Moshe presented orally (before he wrote them down) and answered נעשה. Why did he relate these words twice? Why did they answer differently the second time, when hearing the words read from a scroll? And what did משה רבנו write in ספר הברית?
