Addendum to the shiur: Someone asked a question about working in a hospital, finishing some paperwork on Friday which triggers someone else, Jew or non-Jew, to discharge a patient on Shabbos. This is less of an issue with a non-Jew who will work on Shabbat, because amira l'nochri is permitted for a choleh. If a Jew will discharge the patient on Shabbat, then you can do your job on Friday and let your co-worker know that you've done your job, but you shouldn't then explicitly tell him to discharge the patient on Shabbat.
