Description

Masechet Shabbat Sugyat Chanuka B'Iyun 22b: the Rambam implies that it is forbidden to transfer the light from one candle to another with the help of a wood chip. Why is this ביזוי מצוה since his goal is to fulfill the mitzva of Ner Chanuka? Don't we accept the view of Shmuel who permits it? This is the question of the Ra'avad on the Rambam. We will begin our study of the Rashba on the sugya. We will attempt to understand the debate between the Rashba and the Ba'al HaMaor and the proof from the sugya of 'he has only one candle on the Friday night of Chanuka'.
