Description

Why is the contempt/vayevez for the birthright seen as the defining factor of Esau’s evil rather than any of the other sins of the day, including murder, especially since some of our Sages say that Esau sold the birthright out of fear that he was incapable of performing the rituals correctly and would therefore earn the death penalty?
