Description

This shiur was given in memory of the 11 fellow Jews who were mercilessly gunned down this past Shabbat at Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill. May their memories be a source of blessing and may we learn life lessons from these gentle souls and form the way that the remarkable community of Pittsburgh has responded. The shiur, based on the work of Prof. Menachem Perry, reassesses the story of the betrothal of Rivkah by looking at it from Rivkah's point of view, using a careful reading of the text. Surprising results ensue, which may help explain some of Rivkah's later actions specifically with her children. Note the brief discussion of Kurosawa's "Rashomon" and its impact on literary analysis
