Description

The well-known story of Avraham and his hospitality towards the three "strangers", who prove to be messengers of God, has both internal difficulties as well as challenges which are extrinsic but no less weighty. We look at how two exegetes of the 12th century, Rambam and Rashbam, addressed the challenges the text presents; we used this text as a springboard to analyze how different Parshanim brought differing approaches to the text of the Tanakh which led them to engage the conflicts and challenges of the text each in his own unique manner.
