Parsha & Hashkafa for Chukas: Understanding the words את והב בסופה. The relationship between the Land of Israel and the study of Torah. Which is greater: Torah studied in בבל, or Torah studied in the Land of Israel? We will look at various statements in the Aggadeta regarding the fierce debating between two scholars studying Torah in Bavel. Chazal compares these heavy debates to a war between adversaries. In fact Bavel is called the land of darkness. Yet paradoxically the ש"ס lauds the students of Torah in Bavel. How are we to reconcile these contradictory statements?
