Chag HaShavuaot: Kabbalat HaTorah, קידושין or נישואין, or both? We will study the introduction to the Sefer HaMakneh and try to understand the various stages in effectuating the marriage between HaKaB"hu and Knesset Yisrael. What happened at Yam Suf, was that קידושי כסף? What happened when the mountain hovered over the People, was that חופה? How did the breaking of the Luchot invalidate the marriage so that the People were not guilty at the Egel episode of 'adultery'? How did Moshe check the סוטות to determine who was guilty? These and other questions will be addressed.
