This Hashkafa shiur for Chag HaShavuot is based on the insights of the great Chatam Sofer as presented in the שבילי פנחס. What is the meaning of כפה עליהם הר? Why was it necessary? What is the central mitzva of the day? What is the symbolic message inherent in the שתי הלחם? Why did the angels try to pounce upon Moshe when he came on high to receive the Torah? Why did they back down because of the bread they ate at the table of Avraham?
