Masechet Zevachim 25a-b: אויר שסופו לנוח: i.e. water or דם that is falling into a כלי & is the airspace of the utensil, is it considered to have already landed in the utensil? This is relevant with regard to מים for a Mikveh or for מי חטאת, and is most relevant regarding דם קרבנות after שחיטה when the כלי קיבול has a hole in the bottom of the כלי.
