The Rambam in the Moreh & the Ramban al HaTorah on the reason for Korbanot. Does the mitzvah of Korbanot have an inherent & absolute meaning as all other Mitzvot do? Or is the mandate to bring sacrifices merely a response to idolatry and a means by which Jews undermine the worship and the beliefs of the idolaters?
